The success of any business lies in its Marketing. GRDB provides marketing support and services to Guyana’s rice sector in four main areas; Export & Trade Facilitation, Shipping & Logistics, Promotion and Business to Business Matching.
This department is solely responsible for the preparation of all relevant documentation, for the exportation of rice and rice products from Guyana. The department also monitors the prices for rice on the international markets, and prepares a monthly and annual report on rice exports. These reports are being sent to the various government agencies (e.g. Bank of Guyana, Ministry of Finance, Bureau of Statistics and Ministry of Agriculture), so that informed decisions can be made about the industry at the local and international level.

The Shipping and Logistics Unit’s main role is to aid in the facilitation of commodity trade through Government to Government contracts.
Promotion refers to raising customer awareness of a product or brand, generating sales, and creating brand loyalty. In collaboration with the Value Added Unit, the Marketing Department also focuses on bringing awareness to the public on valued-added rice based products that can be manufactured and sold locally and internationally.
