The GRDB recently hosted its annual Open Day at its Rice Research Station, Burma, Mahaicony. In attendance were the Minister of Agriculture, Honorable Noel Holder, dignitaries from various other government agencies, the private sector, students from various schools, rice millers, farmers, and other invitees. The open day began with tours of some of the testing fields at the station, highlighting the works being done by the researchers based there. There was then a formal gathering in the auditorium, where various speakers, including General Manager (ag), Ms. Allison Peters, and Honorable Minister Noel Holder highlighted the works being done by the GRDB’s Research Arm. Booths showing the various types of research being undertaken at the Research Station were also on display, with staff at the ready to answer any questions that the viewing public might have had. Several pieces of equipment, including heavy duty agricultural machinery were also on display.
